Specializing in Grief, Trauma, Pregnancy, Postnatal, Overwhelm, Accountability, and Personal Growth
I believe in your innate power to heal, recalibrate, stay in the moment, and enjoy the view beyond the horizon. My approach involves building a collaborative partnership, a solution focused mindset, and healthy coping tools to allow a natural process of adaptation to take place. This process looks different for everyone. Art and movement can be incorporated if you would like it to. No artistic talent is required, the focus is on the natural process, rhythm and movement, for example- making bilateral markings on paper to get into a flow state.
After your first appointment, I will build a customized box specifically for you, that includes art supplies, a journal (with specified prompts), a homeopathic remedy, an essential oil, and informative wellness materials all of which are included in the packages below.
Doctorate of Psychology in Grief and Trauma; focusing on the utilization of Expressive Arts and the Indigenous Healing Arts.
Certified in Sensorimotor Art Therapy and Reproductive Grief Care.
Masters of Public Health in Global Health; focusing on Maternal Mental Health and Sexual Health Education.
Bachelors of Science in Alternative Medicine; focusing on Naturopathy, Nutrition, Homeopathy, and Aromatherapy.
Traditional Midwife, trained by indigenous healers, at "The Farm" in Tennessee, and in a Direct Entry Midwifery Bachelors in New Zealand.
Mother. Lover of God. Fluent in English and Spanish.
Prior to to having any qualifications, I completed various Vipassana Retreats (10 days of meditation and silence), lived in the Amazon jungle among the indigenous Shipibo people, and was led to teach Obstetricians and Gynecologists in hospitals throughout South America about the International Childbirth Initiative and the three paradigms of birth (holistic, humanistic, and technocratic). Midwifery care was foreign to me until God laid it on my heart while in the middle of a cacao farm in the Amazon jungle of Perú. I learned from a variety of indigenous and traditional midwives throughout South America, Indonesia, and the Philippines. I have completed an advanced midwifery training at "The Farm" in Tennessee and a lactation consultant training through Bastyr University in Seattle. After practicing traditional midwifery, I further studied it in Direct Entry Midwifery program in New Zealand, where I completed an "Acupuncture for Midwives" course with Debra Betts. New Zealand is also where I gave birth to my son at home at 3.06am and showed up to class with him at 9.00am on the same day.
The devastating impacts of varying public health occurences including: reintegration from military services, the impact of chronic illness on families, addiction resistant treatment, global access to mental health services, along with personal experiences of grief (the unexpected passing of my mother and of my two siblings) led me to transfer the medical knowledge I was acquiring in an MD program into a Doctorate of Psychology. I have created and trademarked a new form of art therapy which provides a flexible and holistic process proven to give results. I have a strong heart for diversity and inclusion, as well as active learning and teaching (life is full of exchange) in order to incorporate collaborative holistic individualized care for all people of all nations!
Fun facts- I have travelled over forty countries before the age of thirty, spent two years of my life cycling 🚴🏽♀️ through South America, lived twelve years oversea, and I know how to care for and milk goats 🐐!
If you (or someone you know) is a veteran, person with a chronic illness(es), and/or facing treatment resistant addiction you may be eligible for free to low cost wellness services.
We are all for you and truly can not wait to hear from you!
